I have been playing piano for a number of years, and am mostly self-taught. Mostly I’ve been playing chords+melody, but I’ve been learning “easy” pieces that I know already recently. Now I am looking for pieces that are within reach. For now I can (relatively comfortably) play
- Rondo Alla Turca (Mozart) - First, second and 3rd part
- Für Elise (Beethoven) - All parts, albeit some much better than others.
- Minuet in G (?) - All the way through, comfortably
- Prelude in C major (Bach) - All the way through, semi-comfortably
Does anyone have any suggestions that doesn’t give me a too steep learning curve?
Florence Launay and I made this edition for you: Armande de Polignac, Preludes for Piano.
There’s a lovely recording of these pieces by Stéphanie Humeau on the album Armande de Polignac: Melodies & préludes pour piano, which you can find on your favourite streaming service.
If you google the ABRSM Syllabus they will include a list of pieces for each grade. They publish their own books with selected pieces and the syllabus will tell you where to find anything not in the main book. Grade 1 is the easiest
