In her recent memoir, Raising Trump, the president’s first wife, Ivana — who is mom to Eric, Don Jr. and Ivanka — recalls Trump balking when she suggested naming their firstborn son Donald Jr. “What if he’s a loser?” Trump said, according to Ivana.
He’s already the worst kind of loser. Those who don’t know they are one and double down on trying to be cool.

I know Trump absolutely despises his two older sons. He tried a third time with Barron and now he’s hoping he can actually carry on the Trump legacy without being a clown like his brothers
He basically dumped Jr and Eric and adopted Jared and rolled the dice with Barron.
Parasocially, it seems like Melania is keeping Barron as far from politics and his father’s giant stink as she can. He was invited to be a delegate and she turned it down on his behalf. The best thing for him is to just never do what his two older half brothers are doing.
