Hi, just got a MacBook air m2 running latest stable Ventura. Safari has no trouble autofilling passwords from keychain, but there’s no autofill in desktop apps. I thought macos had universal keychain autofill. Or did I remember this wrong?

This depends on support by the app developer. I’ve seen it work for some apps, but not for all.

The workaround is to copy and paste the password from the list of passwords in safari or system settings.

As far as I know, the universal password manager of macOS does not work in Firefox.

Apple is releasing a new feature that firefox could implement to access the keychain (the tech behind macOS password manager) but it would require effort by the developers of Firefox.

@tst123, no it doesn’t work in Firefox. @Joey, I’ve only tried Steam and Upnote so maybe it’s a problem with their apps
