We’re running this campaign because the people and the planet deserve better than the Democrats and Republicans.

Learn more about our socialist campaign to fight for a future for and by the working class.

I can’t say I really understand or respect these small parties trying to run presidential campaigns. All it does is take money and time away from what should be spent on local elections. If you want to affect real change you got to build yourself from the ground up. City councils, Mayors, school boards, state congressman, etc… these are where we can make positive changes and build for future success. Show people that it can be better by being better.

I’m sure there’s some logic to it, however I just think it’s generally ineffective. As we have clearly seen.

If you care about eliminating the two party system, voting for a spoiler candidate and handing the presidency to Trump will absolutely do it. You’ll end up with a one-party system (dictatorship).

The two party system sucks, but anyone trying to convince you that it is on the ballot in November is lying to you.

Kamala is the only chance we have at avoiding full-blown Fascism in America. Anyone telling you to vote against her doesn’t see fascism as a dealbreaker.

Especially you, UniversalMonk, since you constantly post about third party candidates to a degree that everyone knows your agenda, and you openly admit that you would welcome a Trump presidency should he win.

Op right wing hack larping as a socialist

Um, if you mean me, I’ve made over 400 posts and comments promoting socialist causes to socialist communties. Feel free to see my post history. In fact, feel free to see how many articles I have posted to the socialist comm at world: https://lemmy.world/c/socialist

If you meant her, well I think she’s genuine and not right-wing at all.

So try again. Obviously you are scared that more and more people know how much you worship the current corrupt capitalist duopoly, and you don’t want the current system to change. So you go ahead and keep trying to confuse people.

But we know what you’re up to, friend. :)

This capitalist duopoly is what keeps the food moving from where it is produced to where i can buy it. This world is fucked and unfair but i dont see how voting for a fringe candidate in 1 election is going to fix anything. Nor do i see how you posting crap online is furthering the revolution.

I think it’s corrupt. But you are definitely free to vote for your values, as am I.

What “crap” am I posting online? This is from her x.com account. I didn’t write it. I’m not part of her campaign. I simply posted it to this socialism community.

You do realize that this is a socialism community right? Posting an article about a socialist candidate to a socialist community isn’t “crap.”

Maybe you are in the wrong community?

Socialism

Create post

An international (English speaking) socialist Lemmy community free of the “ML” influence of instances like lemmy.ml and lemmygrad. This is a place for undogmatic and constructive discussion from a progressive, anti-capitalist and truly anti-imperialist perspective, regardless of specific ideology.

A certain knowledge of socialism is expected, if you are new to/interested in socialism, please visit c/Socialism101 before participating here. Socialism101 will gladly help you by answering questions, providing resources etc.

Memes go in c/Lefty Memes

Please don’t forget to help keep this community clean by reporting rule violations, upvoting good contributions and downvoting those of low-quality!

Rules

1. Socialist Unity in the form of mutual respect and good faith discussion is enforced here.

Try to keep an open mind, other schools of thought may offer points of view and analyses you haven’t considered yet. Also: This is not a place for the Idealism vs. Materialism or rather Anarchism vs. Marxism debate(s), for that please visit c/AnarchismVsMarxism

2. Anti-Imperialism means recognizing capitalist states like Russia and China as such,

as well as condemning (their) imperialism, even if it is of the “anti-USA” flavour.

3. No liberalism, (right-wing) revisionism or reactionaries.

That includes so called: Social Democracy, Democratic Socialism, Dengism, Market Socialism, Patriotic Socialism, National Bolshevism, Anarcho-Capitalism etc. . Anti-Socialist people and content have no place here, as well as the variety of “Marxist”-“Leninists” seen on lemmygrad and more specifically GenZedong (actual ML’s are welcome as long as they agree to the rules and don’t just copy paste/larp about stuff from a hundred years ago).

4. No Bigotry.

The only dangerous minority is the rich.

5. Don’t demonize previous and current socialist experiments or (leading) individuals.

We must constructively learn from their mistakes, while acknowledging their achievements and recognizing when they have strayed away from socialist principles.

(if you are reading the rules to apply for modding this community, mention “Xenial Xerus” when answering question 2)

6. Don’t idolize/glorify previous and current socialist experiments or (leading) individuals.

Notable achievements in all spheres of society were made by various socialist/people’s/democratic republics around the world. Mistakes, however, were made as well: bureaucratic castes of parasitic elites - as well as reactionary cults of personality - were established, many things were mismanaged and prejudice and bigotry sometimes replaced internationalism and progressiveness.

7. Absolutely no posts or comments meant to relativize(/apologize for), advocate, promote or defend:

  • Racism
  • Sexism
  • Queerphobia
  • Ableism
  • Classism
  • Rape or assault
  • Genocide/ethnic cleansing or (mass) deportations
  • Fascism
  • (National) chauvinism
  • Orientalism
  • Colonialism or Imperialism (and their neo- counterparts)
  • Zionism
  • Religious fundamentalism of any kind

(This is not a definitive list, the spirit of the other rules still counts! Eventual duplicates with other rules are for emphasis.)
