Trump predicted that if Biden won, the economy would crash, crime would soar and Christmas would be canceled. None of that happened, but he’s reusing those claims anyway.

If the election does not go his way, the economy will tank, Christmas will be canceled, and America as we know it will be “finished,” Donald Trump promised in the run-up to the 2020 election.

That race did not go his way, of course, and none of Trump’s prophesied cataclysms materialized under Joe Biden’s presidency. But that has not stopped Trump from recycling some of the same dark portents about a Kamala Harris presidency.

Weren’t there people saying Trump would destroy democracy and the country? This country still has democracy, it’s still intact.

Everyone does this during election season and I hate it. I remember similar rhetoric back when Obama became president.

The country barely still has democracy and it is actively under attack. The only reason we even still have what little bit we do is because of the work of people like AOC and Bernie Sanders refusing to roll over for it.

If you have been paying attention to the supreme Court decisions in the last few years, democracy is very much not intact.

He did his damnedest to override the results of the democratic election and you think that fear was unfounded?

Heck yeah, I mean he did leave office willingly and participated in the peaceful transfer of power, after all.

Yeah, never mind the insurrection (more properly called terrorism) we all saw with our own eyes, along with the coup-plotting being done in parallel.

Fear and hate are the cornerstones of his campaign since he started it 9 years ago.

Which makes sense as they’re the cornerstones of Fox News and Trump is just a walking talking distillation of all the worst parts of Fox News. At least he was at the start. Now Fox News isn’t cutting it so he needed something harder and started doing OAN, and most recently has been dabbling in uncut Facebook and Twitter.
