Got a 3 day ban from Reddit because someone abused the “Reddit Cares” function.

I’m just done.

You may see me around here but I’m just so tired of all of it.

It’s a fucking flashlight community - why on Earth is it so hard to participate without constant contrived bullshit?

And I don’t mean the mods on our sub - they’re great - I mean large sub moderators and Reddit’s lazy heavy-handed moderation.

Hoping to see more people come over to Lemmy in time but I know it might be an uphill battle.

See you later,

GSXRBro/DuckDuck

I’m hoping to see more folks come to Lemmy as well! You’ve got a home here with us!

Also nice Beta QRV2. Such a snazzy looking AAA light.

I’m confused. Someone told Reddit you might be suicidal, so Reddit banned your account? I got a “Reddit cares” message during the reopen vote, but it did not ban my account, and I reported it as abuse.

For everyone else, I’d like to suggest that future posts about Reddit and its problems go to /c/reddit.

Unrelated to OP but commenting here since it’s about reddit. Did you notice that mentioning Lemmy on reddit gets your comment shadow removed ? here’s two of mine I just noticed thanks to this AMA about Revedit

Someone kept spamming me with the “Reddit cares” thing. I reported it. Then got a 3 day ban. I wonder if it has anything to do with reporting it under Apollo…

Last time this happened, it was a permaban.

I’m just so tired of it.

Thanks again for maintaining the community here on Lemmy.

What a sensitive way for Reddit to show how it cares! Lol. Welcome to Lemmy and I hope you like it here. Reddit (Deaddit, ha) is dead now, as far as I’m concerned. I’m not 100% gone from there yet, but am working on it.
