I didn’t see it mentioned in the article, but does anyone know if they’re still doing that weird on-call bullshit instead of actually hiring people full time?

Obviously not being paid enough (it mentions deckhands are paid 25% less than what Seaspan offers) is the big issue, but I wonder how many people would accept the current wage if they had reliable/steady hours instead of being hired on an on-call/call-in basis?
