Just thought I’d point this out to anyone looking for an RIF alternative that’s actually in the same vein as RIF (compact, simple, clean).

Boost was a Reddit app until today. They just added a preview to the Play Store for their Lemmy app with no fanfare.

Looks good! I’ve been using Jerboa on list view and finding it pretty close to my old experience on rif.

Jerboa was based on Boost, so the Boost for Lemmy app should be really popular.

I came from Apollo, and wefwef.app has made the transition much much easier. Now let’s grow these communities!

I’m so grateful you posted this comment! As a fellow refugee from Reddit that used only Apollo since the very beginning, wefwef is truly a blessing!

Wouldn’t have found out about it so soon if not for you!

Now trying out Connect for Lemmy. Seems to work fine with a few customization tweaks. Looks very similar to RIF.

What tweaks are you applying?

Mainly the layout as a list instead of cards one in the settings. Also, don’t need the navigation bar all the time.

Thanks for that, I’ll be applying those tweaks on Connect myself. boost looks cool, I’ve bounce from Jerboa to Wefwef and now to Connect, I think I’ll hang out here for awhile unless I hear raving reviews about Boost

Wow, this looks exactly like RIF.

Personally I’m making the move to open source as long as I’m moving from Reddit to Lemmy anyway, so I won’t be using Boost although I used RIF for like a decade, but I’m glad that the app ecosystem is growing so fast and that there’s something for everybody.
