Hello everyone!
I’ve finally released Eternity on the google play store. Note that this is not compatible with the existing releases as this build has a different signature.
Thanks for your support and looking forward to your feedback!
Nice work. I’m using obtanium, which I prefer, but that will give it some exposure.
For the one person downvoted. Obtanium is not a Lemmy app, but an updater app. With obtanium you can auto update Eternity :-)
I can’t get Obtainium to download it. What URL do I need to put in Add App?
Try this
https://codeberg.org/Bazsalanszky/Infinity-For-Lemmy
And there’s an option for allowing beta or similar? Make sure that is checked.
Thank you! I’d used that but didn’t have prerelease checked. Might have to try that with a few of the other apps that I can’t install through Obtainium.
Can’t wait for the F-Droid release!
Just in case you or another reader isn’t aware: Eternity is available in an alternative app repository that can be added to F-Droid in the settings.
This repo, as stated in the description, takes released built by the developers instead of building them directly.
Still looking forward to the official F-Droid release of course :)
Eternity is why I joined up to Lemmy. Got so used to Infinity that I was just going to bail on Reddit altogether, this way I can keep up the bad habits 😀
Note that this is not compatible with the existing releases as this build has a different signature.
Back up your settings before uninstalling your old version, then you should be able to import it to the Play Store version!
Settings > Advanced > Backup Settings
Thanks!
I used Liftoff but I missed Infinity since I moved to Lemmy, didn’t want to use IzzyOnDroid.
Any plan on a build in the official F-Droid repo?
Because of the disclaimer on this page:

Still, use this repo at your own risk: I will take no responsibility whatsoever for any damages which might occur as result (not saying there will be any, though). Further note the inclusion policy of this repo (see the link above) is slightly less strict than F-Droid’s.
