Twitter has threatened to sue Meta Platforms over its new Threads platform, Semafor reported on Thursday, citing a letter sent to the Facebook parent’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg by Twitter’s lawyer Alex Spiro.

I don’t know who Twitter thinks they’re fooling with this. Pretty sure Meta already had the knowledge on how to build a successful social media platform or two. I haven’t downloaded Threads yet and don’t plan to because Meta, but I imagine it’s basically Instagram without the picture requirement and some fancy url handling.

See, here’s our one advantage. Zuck isn’t expecting us to give him any trouble. We’re just a bunch of fucking meme-making peasants, no threat to him in any universe. Which is why it’s gonna be fucking great when we cut him off and retain our status as a direct competitor with his platforms.
