Maybe hold off on the open world stuff for a bit? Open world bounties are kind of a new player trap. That drone gave my group such a headache until much later in the progression - I think we were comfortably clearing Sedna stuff before we went back to Fortuna bounties.

Orb Vallis is also regarded as tougher than the level suggests

The Karak might be a small upgrade over the Braton. There aren’t very many good primary weapons available at that rank. I would recommend increasing your rank a bit. Once you get to MR8, you can use the Fulmin which should easily carry you to end-game.

The Sonicor secondary weapon might still be good but I am not sure how the nerfs have affected it since I last used it.

Ack & Brunt at MR3 is a decent melee weapon for early game.

You’ll get there, mate.

You need to Rank your stuff to Max to increase your own Rank. With your own Rank higher you unlock a bunch of other weapons. So I’d recommend a bit of “grinding basic weapons” to increase your arsenal. Different weapons for different situations and such.

Also Mods make the difference. If you can get some Corrosive damage on those buggers it should help a bunch.

Any weapon can easily get you through basically all content. pick a weapon you think is interesting or cool, and the rest is a matter of the mods you use on it.

Weapons that you have not leveled to rank 30 aren’t “done” yet, so don’t throw it out. You get experience from finishing things (getting them to 30). Also don’t forget to mod your weapons and warframes if you are new.

The Vectis is a good weapon at a low rank, does high damage and can help against Eximus that give you trouble. Imo sticking with either rifles or shotguns will help, since you can pour more effort into one category’s mods and get stronger overall. Otherwise it’ll take twice as long to get both sets of mods leveled up to do content
