Like many of you, I was anxiously waiting for availability, but it’s finally here. For me, the app is running smooth like the reddit version did. If you have the means, consider the ad remove, and launch a rocket. Thank You Rubén!

It’s not here for everyone. This is what I see in the Play Store.

Early Access: Become a tester for Boost for Lemmy and share your feedback 🚀

Hi Boost gang,

The first version of Boost for Lemmy is almost ready. If you want to test the app for bugs and give feedback before the app is published, follow this link https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.rubenmayayo.lemmy to enable an early access option on the Boost for Lemmy Play Store listing.

Thanks for your patience!

Does Boost not support display names yet? I didn’t realize that they aren’t universal.

Edit: also, is there a way to show upvotes and downvotes? That’s pretty important to a lot of us. I searched the settings and found a checked legacy setting called “shorten score” which I unchecked, but it didn’t seem to do anything.

I’m not totally sure what display names are. I did see an option in settings, but I also saw someone mention the option didn’t change anything for them. The up and down votes is a good question. I do like that about Lemmy, I would expect it to be included at some point, but I couldn’t guess when. The review in the options goes to the developer only, so it’s a good place to mention what is important to you. I’ve mostly been basking in the golden rays of app familiarity. The beta is far ahead of the established Lemmy apps in my opinion, just as it was for Reddit.

You have to register for the beta program. There’s a link in another post from Ruben.

This is the fastest I ever paid for an app. This has always been my favorite and one of my most used apps.

I know that the Lemmy user base is much smaller than Reddit’s and I’m so thankful that Rubén kept the price low and didn’t start charging triple digits like a certain other Reddit-turned-Lemmy-app to compensate. I also launched the rocket and still feel like I got a great deal.

I sincerely hope this venture will still be profitable and worth Rubén’s time and effort, I’ll keep launching the ticket on occasion to do my part that will be.

I registered as a beta tester and immediately upon logging in and setting my favorite layout, it felt HOME. Was happy to launch the rocket!

Same here. Home is exactly the right word. Took me way to long to find boost for Reddit. So glad it’s here for lemmy.

I have a pixel and don’t want to use a different launcher. I wish that the app icon was a little different.

Boost with revanced still works although maybe I should just ditch it…

I wonder if the ads are bugged or if the purchase of boost for Reddit is also valid for boost for Lemmy. I haven’t purchased the version for lemmy yet but still don’t see ads.

I don’t think the ads are turned on yet. I went ahead and purchased it anyways though as a show of good faith.

Yeah the app just looks and feels so good that the ad free option was an instant buy for me. Didn’t even scroll before I made purchase. \o/
