So, I have been testing out a few distro’s lately after deciding to move away from arch. I have noticed, though, that every time I install a new system (latest one being NixOS) with btrfs, I get symlinks of my home folder in my Documents folder.
It’s really kind of odd. I haven’t tried with ext4, yet. Is this a known issue?
I’m sorry I can’t tell you why that is happening, but I can assure you that it is not because of btrfs. Btrfs does not have any reserved filenames, and since home folders depend on your username it would definitely not know when to create the synlinks if it was meant to.
That’s really weird. So far it hasn’t happened to me on fedora on my laptop or desktop so I don’t think it’s btrfs but I’ll test it out with a fresh install of both fedora and nix to see what happens
