It’s all fun and games until the dice trays come out
I DM’d for the first time ever. I had all my closest, most beloved friends over. Nobody had played before other than me, and I had only done two campaigns as a PC. I spent 60+ hours preparing for this campaign.
When everyone arrived, I was playing some Happy Hardcore. We all got some drinks and chatted and everything was fun. Everyone took their place, had their sheets ready, the cartographer was ready, and everyone was having a chat.
I waited until a lull in the conversation and got all my spreadsheets ready, then when a moment silence happened, I played “The Origin” off’a Haggard’s “Tales of Itheria.”
The mood shifted so hard to the right side of this image macro and my best friend was like “…oh shit, whoa…”
It was my introduction to DMing and my last. I miss you, my warrior.
