Hello visitor!
I’m a postgraduate student studying the bibliographic history of Henry VIII, Mary I, and the English Reformation more generally.
I noticed there was no Tudor community and wanted a place to post news, studies, books, and general discussion.
Pop around, say hello, maybe introduce yourself and share what about 16th century England enthrals you! xx
I am currently reading John Edward’s’ biography on Mary I. Last term I wrote a paper on the biographies by David Loades and Anna Whitelock—after the misogyny of Loades and the lack of analysis by Whitelock, I’m very pleased to be reading both a scholarly and just treatment of Mary’s life. I do have a distinct weakness to Melita Thomas’s book on Mary’s youth despite the errors contained therein. Up next on my immediate reading list is From heads of household to heads to state and Going to church in medieval England.
