Any experiences with public draft leagues?

I don’t think I want the stress of trying to match the overall ranking I got in FPL last year and I love the draft format I’ve had with fantasy hockey, so I’m considering jumping into a draft league for a new FPL challenge this season.

Unfortunately I don’t know enough people playing FPL to start my own league so I’m probably going to be in a public one.

Usually in public hockey draft leagues, most of the teams in your league will be inactive after a few weeks and their players will forever be locked to that team since there’s no commissioner to intervene. I’m assuming this will be much the same in FPL.

Has anyone here had experience of what the public draft leagues are like for FPL?

With the Champions League 22/23 final marking the end of the 22/23 season, I thought it might be a good idea to get a Lemmy community going as a refuge for the diaspora of /r/FantasyPL.
