It’s not a 100% indicator, but I checked the URL and it said nbcmiami; Miami’s in Florida USA so that’s where I figured the county would be located

I understand it to be geopolitically significant. Biden, head of state for a big country. Xi, head of state for another big country. China’s made it known they don’t want Xi called a dictator. Biden’s done it anyway.

It’s the scale of the thing that matters here. It’s a political statement of gravity. He’s calling any bluff they’ve got going, and demonstrating that the USA doesn’t respect China enough to use their preferred nomenclature. It’s a calculated insult and a challenge.

Yep, by subbing the same way as all the others.

On jerboa, in the communities tab->paste in the full url to get the magazine in scope-> reload the tab & search for the mag-> go to it-> subscribe.

No issues. This was a week ago though, when I was on a sub spree. Might have got a bit börked since

I would really love a dialog informing me of the link destination before I get sent there. I’m used to such a thing from RiF so it was a nasty shock to see a wiki page on child molestation pop up when I tapped an innocuously titled link.

Since trees@lemmy.ml seemed to still be empty last I checked, this would be the ideal time to refocus it.

I haven’t yet seen a r/marijuanaenthusiasts port in the fediverse and would welcome such!

It probably would be a problem with the servers if it’s stuck on loading.

But you shouldn’t need to create accounts on multiple instances: if the instances are federated, that is if they have linked, you should be able to subscribe and interact with communities on other instances just from your one account.

Depends on how you’re interacting with Lemmy, I think. In firefox I click on the thumbnail. In Jerboa I have to enter the comments thread, or follow the link by tapping on the thumbnail.

You might find more knowledgeable answers in the Lemmy support community.
