That there is no perfect defense. There is no protection. Being alive means being exposed; it’s the nature of life to be hazardous—it’s the stuff of living.

I am surprised portable CD players are still a thing. I would have thought it’s mostly stationary systems to access your collection at home.

While I did have a discman growing up, I find it difficult to imagine carrying around a CD player these days.

According to the report, the company’s chief financial officer, Susan Li, told staff the division has lost $55 billion since 2019.

$55 billion in losses over ~5 years? That’s a substantial amount.

This was tested in a cloud instance, they said they couldn’t get power consumption data.

Very impressive performance in benchmarks, I am surprised to see Intel’s Xeon series perform so bad.

I don’t think it will get to that. They will comply with US export restrictions even if they won’t be happy about losing Chinese revenue.

To be honest, I think EU is underestimating the long term threat from the CCP, just like they did with russia.

Blockchain/“web3.0” gaming is the dumbest thing around (even by the very low standard of buttchainers).

P2E is by definition a pyramid scheme for the benefit of the developers and criminal “venture capital” gangs.

The viable claimed benefits (marketplace for items) have be done with buttchain.

Other claimed benefits (cross game item transfer) makes no sense and wouldn’t be adopted by game devs/publishers.

Still way weaker than a 3050 mobile dGPU, but good progress for iGPUs nevertheless. Until recently, even top end iGPU couldn’t come even close to budget dGPUs.

Did not know that this one of their goals with removing web access. Makes perfect sense though.

These companies are all oligopolies run by criminals. They extract massive amounts of money due to lack of competition.

Indeed, wearable batteries, the rise of renewables, adoption of EVs/PHEVs, novel heat pump tech is truly cool technology.

It’s interesting that they think AI demand will continue through 2025. TSMC even thinks AI features will results in shorter replacement cycles for client devices.

Also it’s crazy that their capital spending is $30 - $32 B per year. This is an enormous amount.
