It was quite a smart choice.
But another way to do things could also be to disallow users to upvote their own content. Either by disabling the button, or just silently ignoring it.
One is probably more to avoid user to complain they can’t do it. The other more logical at a dry level
Ernest is a man of taste
Those are the main reason I’m currently replying to you from kbin
Ernest, the kbin developper is great, humble, reactive and I have big hope for him.
On the other hand kbin seems a little less mature at development level, but it has all the time to catch up
@fastfinge From what I see it’s only the firewall and mercurejs which have to-do section. Not really obscure parts
If you already have previous knowledge of hosting anything serious publicly, it’s not a problem.
But it’s part of my “less mature” in my top level comment
What bother me more is the API not working
@Chuck-Shepherd505@kbin.social Same with Vivaldi. Quite annoying
Then collegues says: “Oh there’s a windows update!” and try to do it too but can’t find it.

TypeScript won’t save you from JavaScript
Yet I hated working with Javascript. Everything always felt like a mess ready to break at any moment.
On the other hand I love Javascript. It definitely fix the bad part of JS while keeping the good
Yup, I’m unsure how I’m supposed to subscribe to a remote magazine when it doesn’t exist on kbin. But it does not exist because nobody subscribed?
🙃
@Cold_Brew_Enema when the turbine are on, yes.
But if they aren’t, the plane is only working on a battery and then, which is likely the case when the plane is just sitting idle on the tarmac. Then nope.
You just get to enjoy the airflow from a tiny fan while sitting in a metal can under the sun close to hundred of other people
