Came here from reddit, this place is pretty chill, I think I’ll stick around.

Oh man, if he makes boost for lemmy it will really complete the package for me.

Sadly, rmayayo has said that he will not be working on a boost app for lemmy:

Well said. I’ve been using fusion 360 for a few years now, but have to admit that I only recently began working on properly constraining my sketches. I didn’t realize how many issues it was causing me until I began doing it right and stopped having said issues.

I think personally, I would also add a step to this process which would be to take a picture of the geometry in question with a ruler right up against it (to be able to scale the reference image in fusion). It probably won’t be perfect, but I think it does help as a starting point that you can then make adjustments to as needed.

I recently bought a 3d scanner, so I’m curious to start using that to scan in reference geometry. Should be interesting.

So, I’m not a scientist, but I’ve watched plenty of space and ocean documentaries because it’s interesting to think about, so I’m pretty qualified, right? So, space is actually the opposite of heavy. It’s a vacuum, so the vessels designed to operate there have to deal with holding pressure IN, instead of out. Also, there’s no big ass squid in space to eat you, lmao.

I’ve tried just about all of the current apps that are available for lemmy over the last two days and so far liftoff feels the most like a usable app to me. To ve fair, I know that a lot of rhe apps I tried are still in alpha or beta, so I’m not trying to talk bad about them, I get it. Liftoff is pretty good though.

I watch all kinds of radiation/nuclear related documentaries on YouTube and stuff and it’s always ao crazy to think that these people were putting this stuff into their bodies thinking it waa good for them. Now that we know just how BAD it really is, never ceases to make me cringe.

It’s also crazy to think about the fact that there are Chinese companies selling products packed with thorium and other radioactive materials in them as “Wellness” products on Amazon.

Yeah, I do kinda feel like I’m commenting more on posts that I wouldn’t have commented on over at reddit. Not sure why, probably has at least something to do with tje fact that I want to contribute to this place. I think it’s also that people on here do seem to be more laid back and less confrontational over things that don’t call for a confrontation. I like it here.
