The Dutch word for ‘potato’ is ‘aardappel’ which translates literally as “earth apple”

They’re just not the same for me, unfortunately. They have a place, but I prefer reading.

I just wanted to be able to read a book without (possibly) straining my neck :(

There have actually been three popes from Africa! Though the last one was pope from 492 to 496. Not 1492… 492.

I totally agree with you though, I just had to "uh actually’ a little because I think it’s interesting.

Not a teacher, but my mother is a retired professor.

It would absolutely work on a large percentage of students, especially the type that are so lazy they are plugging their assignment into an ai. She retired in 22 and had students that had never used a desktop computer with a mouse and keyboard, only phones, tablets, and ChromeOS laptops. Text formatting, beyond the very basics of bold and colors, were a new concept for them.

Playing with randoms is a huge mixed bag for me. I live in the Netherlands and frequently get paired with fellow Americans, but there’s also plenty of people speaking French, German, Italian, Turkish… plenty of people that just can’t communicate at all.

I once joined a team of three French dudes who I was just barely able to understand their strategy for bot defense missions: wear the armor with explosion damage resistance and call in a 380 and walking artillery barrage on yourself. If possible, run to one of the little pillars and lay down on top of them (bringing a jetpack helps with this).

I haven’t done a bot defense differently since.

Maybe we need to encourage something like Deep Rock Galactic’s player base does: type ‘r’ in chat to ask if everybody is ready. It’d be awesome if it was added to the menuwheel of things you can yell while on a dive.

I think they are referring to the movie, which (I believe) did not have a laugh track.

If you can find it there was a DVD release of the tv series where the laugh track could be disabled. It’s so much better.
