Don’t forget, among certain populations in the US, there is a cultural distrust of doctors.

You only have to look to events like Tuskegee to see why.

Been a long time since I went fishing as anything else than a chance to hang with a friend, and kill a six pack on a nice sunny day.

Hell, I’ve just sat with him while he fished and we shot the shit for a couple hours.

It was in a public park, catch and release system. So a little chatter wasn’t gonna spook the fish anymore than a playground of kids screaming.

I believe his point is that a gag order won’t stop trump from breaking it.

My own take is we shall see if the courts have any teeth when he violates it.

Your point is completely valid, don’t get me wrong, you’re just talking about different things on the same topic.

Don’t forget all the other little subscription services that have popped up.

Seems like I can’t go a day without a few things wanting my cash monthly.

I don’t currently sail the seas, but it’s part of my next project, a cluster of pis or similar… I’ve got a hell of a server, and got it for free, but it just kills our electric bills and produces a lot of heat that the AC has to combat thus even higher electric bills. . Hoping a cluster of pis will be sufficient for what I want, but I’ve done no real research past proof of concept at this point.

Advice or resources welcome lol.

Honestly it seems like a lot of Aronofsky films are deeper than they appear at surface level.

Loved Pi back in the day.

I was more thinking it’s to test the waters.

A buck is affordable to most everyone who has the means to access Twitter.

Of course next year it’ll be Twitter++ subscriptions for 20 bucks a month, as they phase out the 1 dollar tier.

I never cared for Twitter, and watching Musk’s spin on it has been hilarious as someone with a long history in corporate IT.

Pre-edit: At the moment I’m refusing to refer to it by a tween edgelords name~ Musk’s name for it.

While I don’t normally condone death as a form of punishment, we have precedent with the Rosenberg’s.

Executed as traitors, and if memory serves, for less flagrant violations. The fact that the orange stain continues to get away with all this shit astounds me.

Being an absolute traitor to your country while being the president… I’m sorry, but execution may be the only suitable solution, especially considering how many lives trump has had a direct hand in ending. Whether that be covid, compromised information to foreign powers (allegedly) that we have a history of NOT being friendly with, or just improper storage (including using it as some form of clout), or just general ineptitude.

If the US was a TV show, we jumped the shark when that fucker was forced in against the popular vote by the electoral college.

Then again, if memory serves, most GOP presidents in recent history have been forced through by the electoral college, as opposed to the will of the people.

I don’t get how casual people are with machines designed solely to kill. It may be perfectly a cut and dry case of self defense, but it was designed to kill.

That being said, I am pro 2a generally, though I wish proper handling of firearms was taught at different age levels in school. From elementary where, just no, to high school. Additionally, a better system to screen for mental health issues (of which I might not be able to own a firearm) but that would rely on the US having any sort of infrastructure for mental health care.

My insurance is so shit I could go to a practitioner down the road and pay less, with no insurance taken at all. That’s just for mental health.

I like the place I’m at, but the shitty insurance really has me looking.

Of course there is a whole other dialogue on how the US has fallen behind most of the civilized world in medical care, under a variety of parameters - part of that being insurance is tied to your employer. I can accept it or look elsewhere for work.

Oh, the gun violence, and failure to have a more modern and inclusive health care (including mental health) are absolutely entwined.

The US is failing its citizens every day. In so many ways.

Yet on the right they’re dicking about without a speaker and heading the US to a government shutdown.

There’s a problem with our two party system, and there is no good solution that I can see. I live in the south. Die hard cult members around here, and this is the suburbs of a major city that leans more to the left (just like any urban center tends to) but leaning left from fascism is not enough.

I am a lefty on most things, just not 2a. Sadly the group that likes guns also seems to like the christofascist political folks.

The brainwashing is real. Went through some myself, and it still troubles my thoughts. Do I believe in something because I actually believe it, or was it instilled in me at a young age and I don’t recall the source? I try to challenge my perception of things frequently, some efforts more successful than others.

I run everything but work and a gaming rig on some flavor of Linux.

In the past, I ran all Linux except work, so even gaming.

I just missed the ease of use of third party tools, mostly for modding sjbgke player games.

Maybe vortex works and I just don’t understand his to use it on Linux, buy I’ve also run into third party tools for other games (again, single player - not trying to cheat necessarily, though some questionable QoL mods end up creeping in after a few play through) and I’m not sure how to get them to run.

I’ve always had trouble with wine, never set up lutris, but proton was a boon for gamers everywhere, Linux or otherwise.

Anyone have a primer for a power user (sysadmin type duties on my own server, have been using Kali as an educational tool since back track) that’s pegged at gamers making the switch to Linux? I’ve mostly just figured it out looking to random guides and stack overflow, lol.
