Not actually a “carpenter” - the word in Aramaic for carpenter is similar to the Hebrew word for scholar, i.e. an unemployed intellectual. A person of leisure. Not that there’s anything wrong with woodworking, but Christ was not a woodworker… that’s not how one learns metaphysics.
