I listen to Phish, and even as someone with terrible music taste I’m not a fan.

DMB and Trey Anastasio Band played a 100 person birthday party for some billionaire at the Yellowstone Club in Montana. I was going to make a joke about that being like the Dead playing at Bohemian grove, but I looked it up and that has actually happened a few times.

Got a link? I’ve only been able to find short clips and haven’t seen the chair in action yet.

IIRC Blomkampf repurposed interviews from and earlier documentary he had done about immigrants from Zimbabwe. I think he reshot the scenes with actors and just changed the subject matter to aliens.

Somewhat related; in the early 00’s there was talk of 20th Century Fox producing a 5th Alien movie with Ridley Scott writing and James Cameron directing. After Freddy Vs Jason was announced and received some hype Fox cancelled the project and ordered up Alien Vs Predator in a rush job. A decade later Blomkampf was signed on to make the actual Alien 5 starring Sigourny Weaver while Scott worked on Prometheus 2. Scott threw a fit and ended up turning Prometheus 2 into Alien Covenant and the Blomkampf project was cancelled.

Just watched French Connection for the first time a few weeks ago. It starts off with the two cop protagonists chasing down a black man for leads, assaulting him, then commenting, “Never trust a n*****.”

PG: Psycho Goreman

Its a hilarious parody of a early 90’s Cannon Films style “Kids find an alien” adventure movie. The effects are mostly practical, amazing miniatures and puppetry. The movie released in like March 2020 and got completely overshadowed by the pandemic.

Mario is the tale of a union man taking mushrooms and rescuing his side piece from a human trafficking dinosaur. Pokemon is about a kid winning a series of cockfights and taking down the mafia. For kids? Hardly.
