Sounds like it’s just another tool in a coding arsenal! As long as you take care to verify things like you did, I can’t see why it’d be a bad idea. It’s when you blindly trust that things go wrong.
Not excusing the behaviour but I’d bet it’s the amount of traffic people often sit through everyday along with the overall pace of life feeling faster.
I’m lucky to work weird hours where traffic is almost zero, but personally, sitting in hours of traffic everyday to and from work would make me want to pull my hair out.
“Expensive chinesium” and “cheap for a reason” doesn’t add up.
I feel like if the product was that bad or unreliable it simply wouldn’t sell the way it has been.
Sure cost plays a part but if it’s cheap enough to be a buying factor, odds are it’s cheap enough to buy outright or have it paid off early.

In this instance, I think people need to separate the art from the artist so to speak. The Chinese EV’s are already doing well in other countries and it can’t only be because they are cheaper though I’ll admit that is likely a large factor. Why not buy the best product for your money?
Honestly, I bet the roads would be safer today if anyone who made traffic regulations had never driven. As it stands I think rules and design are mainly for driver convenience rather than general safety.
