Man, I hate identity politics. It really has been an extremely useful tool to get the wealthy to divide us so that we won’t care about our own deliberate impoverishment.
At the same time, whenever someone is mean to my trans homies I want to punch them in the throat.
So you say.
I voted Biden in 2020. I knew he’d do nothing to help the poor, and he didn’t, but I did think he’d do something to stop the rise of fascism.
He failed there too. It should be impossible for Trump to run now, but we elected an impotent piece of shit who was only concerned about getting wealthier and keeping his scumbag son out of prison.
You’ve seen Biden fail at stopping fascism for four years now. Now Biden can’t even form a coherent thought, and needs handlers to make sure he doesn’t wander off.
How you manage to convince yourself that a vote for Biden matters in the slightest I do not understand.
I think you need to reevaluate what winning means.
How badly do the Dems have to betray you before you’re willing to do anything different? Was it not enough to see them shrug their shoulders and the doubling and tripling of the cost of living? What about when Roe was repealed and all they did with their majority was fundraise? Or how about that time when you needed aid to live, or someone you know did, and instead they sent your tax money to fund the genocide of children?
When is it enough?
What galls me is that we have no means of recourse really.
The minimum wage has been stuck at $7 for almost two decades, and 2/3 of the states use that baseline. Unions have become stronger by necessity, which is great, as prices for everything from food, to gas, to rent have surged and our Federal Government has done nothing meaningful to stop it. Workers are cast as lazy or crybabies for wanting the most basic positive work-life balance. And, short of being a billionaire or being willing to commit a terrorist act (which I 100% do not endorse) the individual is stuck cutting themselves down to the bone in order to survive, even with a full-time job.
I wonder if he’s a Catholic too.
