Yeah, I don’t really understand what this all is, but after pressing through a few failed attempts to sign up and finding a compatible app, I figure if nothing else, it’ll give me something to read after next week.

I still enjoy /r/cfb and /r/collegebaseball

Otherwise, it seems the entire site has devolved into nothing but new bot accounts posting from the big book of repetitive karma gaining questions on /r/AskReddit. Seems everything else is a ghost town.

The last time I went to a movie was whatever year Once Upon a Time in Hollywood came out. I honestly don’t even know where or if a theater is located anymore.

I’m glad my daughter is an adult because we still had the second run dollar theaters when she was little. So… Many… Animated… Movies

I’m about to go completely devoid of simulation. I cut cable in 2009, just cancelled Netflix, will not renew Amazon Prime (there appears to be an all or nothing refund for cancelling mid-year and I’m in the morning category), just left Reddit, deleted Facebook years ago, never had Instagram, Twitter, tic-tac, or any other social media.

The only thing that’s still worth anything to me is Spotify, and I won’t be surprised if they pull some shitty shenanigans in the near future.

I did the same thing this morning. Thirteen years of content erased.

It seems the whole thing is that they want to monetize user content. My thirteen years of content, which I’ve occasionally seen pop up on other sites, just went poof.

Hey. I clicked on the RIF link and it took me to their Reddit post wherein I immediately got a pop-up trying to direct me to read it on the official Reddit app.

Yeah, no.

I got on here at some point last week and the content has already increased like crazy. The first couple days it was the same five posts talking about Reddit.

Now I’m seeing a lot of content in a lot of different communities.

I’m GenX and find myself slowing migrating away from the internet entirely as it relates to social interaction and entertainment.

I still need it for bill paying and whatnot, but I’ve grown exhausted from the ubiquitous hate and vitriol of users and the ever increasing greed and attempts at overall control of my existence from the platforms.

I’m starting to feel like some crazy anti government prepper, but towards the Internet and corporations rather than the government.

I destroyed thirteen years of comment and post history. Is there any reason I should further maintain my account? I’m asking because if there’s something more I can do to screw with their site via my account, I’m all ears.

I think what pisses me off the most is that no matter what happens, Spez will somehow walk away with enough of that sweet, sweet CEO money to fund my life several generations over and will probably get another sweet, sweet CEO position somewhere else to destroy another company because he’s got “experience”.
