Going to stay with Lemmy for now. I had already been looking for an alternative to reddit even before this whole fiasco and Lemmy has what I’m looking for so far.
Can’t relate at all because nobody “belongs to” anyone
People who don’t like anything are incredibly boring, in my humble opinion. Imagine putting all of this effort into an essay about why other people shouldn’t like the things that they like. I think a lot of people mistake being a contrarion for being an intellectual.

I knew a couple of other kids with C64s and we used to trade game disks. Half or more of the games on the disks wouldn’t work or would be completely incomprehensible but there were some real gems hidden in there. I remember my mom spending hours typing in the machine code for me, as I was quite young at the time. Eventually I taught myself BASIC and made a few choose your own adventure style games that where nothing but a series of if, then, goto statements
