Ads are so backwards in general.
Why would I trust a brand just because they inconvenience me for 30 seconds before I can watch a YouTube video I’m actually interested in? Or the branding that interrupts me reading an article with a “trendy and hip”, horribly made auto-play clip that bolsters an audio volume level so high, it almost deafens me?
I almost actively avoid products that I see advertisement for on a daily basis because they piss me off so much.
I get wanting to promote your product and it’s not the company’s fault that many places aggressively spam ads in your face to nickle and dime their user base.
I really feel like ad revenue should not be based on how many ads you show, but how much return the advertiser gets. Google’s ad service has a return of about 4%, which means for every 100 bucks a company pays to Google to advertise a product, they can expect to recoup 4. I dunno how that is even worth it.
It honestly sounds more of a metaverse echo chamber than a true competitor. It gives me the vibes that the only reason for releasing Threads is to pull people from Twitter in order to track them more efficiently.
As a side note, I can already tell how very annoying this “service” will be when I have to google stuff about threading in programming.
Schwer zu sagen. Ist oft nur Materialaustausch: die stationierten Apaches werden zurück in die USA transportiert zur Instandhaltung und die “Neuen” haben wahrscheinlich einen Probeflug hingelegt.
Wohne in der Einflugzone von Ramstein und große Truppen-/Materialbewegungen passieren dort auch häufiger. Ich würde da nix großartig reininterpretieren, ist schon ewig so.
For you as a personal user, the protest might have been an inconvenience at most, but I don’t know about the impact it had on potential investors. Think about it this way: would you invest in a new IPO when their users, who provide all of the content and moderation, are willing to subvert the whole premise of the company? I surely fucking wouldn’t.
To be charged with war crimes, you basically have to surrender a war. The USA never surrenders when they are losing (Vietnam, Afghanistan/Iraq) and weasels their way out every time. Almost like it helps to have an unfathomable amount of money and influence on world economy, so nobody dares to hold you accountable for your wrongdoings.
