Thank you for being polite about it. For the most part I do actually put carts away. I was mostly just commenting to say its incredibly ridiculous to get from “Person does a pretty minor in the long run but selfish thing” to “This person relies on society having rules in order to be able control themselves or be considerate to others”.

Note I started this convo by saying that not putting the cart back is a dick move. So I’m not really sure how I’m being a hypocrite here? My whole point was that just because someone chooses to occasionally be selfish, does not mean they are incapable of self governing, people have different priorities, and there are FAR more impactful things I can spend my limited energy on than whether or not I put a cart back (Which I usually do btw, like I agreed at the start, its a dick move not to). That being said, arguing with people on lemmy isnt really a high impact use of my energy either xD

Edit: Ok, yall have convinced me. I’m going to start wheeling shopping carts into the most inconvenient places in the parking lot on purpose now. I wouldnt be surprised if I tipped and treated service staff a hell of a lot better than most of you considering how much you’re all itching to feel superior to others over extremely minor things

Yeah, DF is like Rimworld in that it looks like a low powered game, but it’ll eat up as many resources as you give it, so a tower is a better host for it. And in fort mode I tend to get around the production chains that intimidate me too much by using trade. I’ll focus HEAVILY on a production chain I understand and enjoy and build up a LOT of excess in that category, and then sell it off for the resources I need but dont want to make when the seasonal traders arrive, because unlike rimworld, they show up consistently unless you have pissed their empire off. I also wouldnt sleep on adventure mode either, DF builds a whole world for you to explore, and the Shenanigans you can get up to in it are pretty great. Becoming a legendary wrestler and running around breaking peoples arms, stealing their weapons, and then throwing said weapons into the faces of their allies is a rush
