Honestly, I’ve noticed that really only select communities really ever moved from reddit to Lemmy and it’s full of people who are sucking their own dick on superiority complex.
A lot of this stuff (Linux requiring command line and root knowledge and Lemmy needing multiple instances to shuffle through) is just absolutely going to keep people, that I struggle to explain a URL to, from using any of this stuff.
I get that they like the privacy and the control and all that of this but telling people to just get good and use this stuff is like a basketball star being confused when you say you struggle to get a point because you should just run up and dunk it. Missing some steps and skills.
Honestly whatever on the whole repayment thing cause I’m poor and fucked no matter what so… Meh.
But seriously can we fucking stop pretending the poverty line is real or even close to where they say it is? When every single benefits package and plan talks about a 200% increase from base poverty line or $20,000 over the base poverty limit for approval it just means poverty is much more common and a lot more expensive than we want to admit but it would freak out hundreds of thousands to realize just how poor they actually are.
Rip off the bandaid of bullshit poverty line adjustments and just be honest that the average American is low class now.
No cause the US would have to even pretend to give a shit about its own populace and pretend be a social serving government, for anyone that supports the US in it’s current form to not just be an authoritarian pro-capitalist dick sucker.
No tankies like all that stuff but with the words “for the greater good” slapped on their ass while gargling authoritarian balls.

This is absolutely accurate. Basically humanity is constantly reducing the cost and skill barriers for tasks and jobs. It’s weird that we are now aggressively doing it on creative aspects but that’s what has been done and it’s making a mess of garbage media and porn that could have happened before but much higher quantities and less oversight/Input from multiple people.
And they still eat floating plastic that they mistake for jellyfish.
No the straw thing was about a cute kid making a science fair project about “The Dangers of Straws!” With all the thought an elementary school student could offer to the conversation that was latched onto by the media to fill a time slot and get more media buzz.
I can’t figure out how to stop EGS from pushing notifications that don’t go away without clicking on them in Windows.
And occasionally it will just push a quasi-notification through just the app to make it start flashing on the taskbar and forcing itself over other open apps. Nothing even is happening it just desperately wants to be on top.
An absolute garbage fire of a game launcher, barely worth the free games it gives. (and seeing as I don’t play them I guess fully not worth)
He’s a corporate piece of shit. I have to vote for him every time but he’s absolutely on the wrong side and if America burns I will consider him like Nero having done nothing but played his fiddle to the tune of the screams of his constituents as he refuses to change things that might upset his benefactors.
Truly a waste of a presidency and a failure of those in power to try and make things better instead of hiding and playing passive line holders to fascists at the gate.
Oh, I don’t really recommend copper as someone that cooks.
Like, you can accidentally poison yourself or possibly give yourself early dementia. They are a pain to clean unless you are willing to buff them constantly to keep the shine… Do yourself a favor and get like a couple decorative pieces if you really want copper but cook with steel/iron
