I understand your point much better now. I already ignore the ignorant right when they call democracy fascism. The far left means well, they are just trying to drop a verbal nuke because they are desperate to be heard (no hate, I get that) or their vocabulary is inadequate to express nuance.
I mean no, but I’ve long ago made my peace that I’ll get downvotes from the far left when I veer away from the groupthink. Whatever. It’s fine that they want to go further left as long as they vote to keep Trump out of power. I actually miss having a sane right that offers an alternative to candidates I disagree with, but right now I’m all in. You want to come destroy my suburban way of life? Sure, buddy, but let’s just beat fascism first.
The problem with treating the Bible as a factual account is nothing adds up in it. Saying Beelzebub is a “name of Satan” is really misleading and a result of later negotiation with the text. Just like the serpent in the garden of Eden wasn’t Satan until folks decided it was - there is no support for that in the text at all.
Satan is more like calling someone enemy - you can have lots of enemies without them all being the same entity.
What I said was in the first sentence. Biden named him attorney general precisely for his milquetoast qualities. He didn’t want anyone controversial - someone who might get some real shit done.
So to be completely blunt, Biden is the reason we have an attorney general with no teeth. I actually think Biden has been a great President overall, but that decision was one I disagreed thoroughly with.
That’s a best case scenario. A gamma ray burst could hit the planet tomorrow and we’re all gone. A madman with a bunch of nukes could trigger a nuclear winter. A massive volcano could darken the skies for years - wouldn’t be the first time. I’d like to see some progress just in case.
