Thanks for starting this community, it was one of my favorites on reddit. I particularly like ghost stories and anything where creepy stuff is happening in the home, and in your bedroom. Heart-Shaped Box and Hex both did this well.

Have you read Hollow Kingdom? Plenty of comedy and a surprising amount of pathos.

I joined and I support your efforts. Wish I had any value to add.

Use a piping bag to fill muffin tins/cupcakes. Saves so much mess and crumpled paper.

I’m on a never-ending hunt for soft whole wheat buns. Are you able to share the recipe?

My biggest concern with this is the potential for coercion. I believe that’s the reason we dont let people sell their organs. I’m fine with someone dying because they want to. I’m not fine with someone being strong-armed into it by self-interested parties.

Clearly you have a better technique than me. When i spoon batter into paper cups, the spoon inevitable touches the paper, sticks to it, and causes it to fold and stick to the batter in the rest of the cup. At least a third of my cups end up messy and misshapen. Piping works great for me, but I dont do a lot of things with “chunks.”

Baking has been really good for me. Also I love hot water, but dont have a usable bathtub, so I got myself a shower chair. It’s so relaxing.

Every evening I go for a walk. The fresh air nd bird sightings are as good for me as the exercise.

Every Wednesday. That’s when sales flyers come out for Aldi (website) and Food Lion (app). I make a list of all the produce going on sale. I keep a spreadsheet full of recipes organized by produce ingredient, and pick out recipes for the week based on sales and anything in my freezer that needs using.

I also have certain weekly rules. I plan 4 dinners and 3 breakfasts. In all these meals, only 2 can have meat, at least 2 must use legumes, at least one must have spinach, and at least one must have fatty fish (tuna or salmon, doesn’t count as meat). I aim for an anti-inflammatory diet, so I try to include that type of ingredient in each meal. It’s challenging, but fun to plan and has greatly increased my family’s nutrition.

I use Evernote on my phone to plan meals. I keep a list there of all foods in my freezer (meats, produce, breads, whole meals) and the date they were put in. Excel on my laptop to store and organize recipes. And the Anytime app to keep grocery lists for all the stores I visit.

A shower chair. I find hot water soothing, but I dont have a tub that I cam sit in. The chair lets me just relax under the shower. It’s a great place to brush my teeth, so my dental habits have improved.
