I’ve used it for translating reviews where the website’s (or google’s) translator does a terrible job. It seems to do a much better job (at least the reviews made a lot more sense and I got a lot more out of it).

But I absolutely agree, don’t ever trust it to be completely accurate, especially with something important like contracts.

edit: grammar.

It would be interesting to see just how often Instagram sold its users’ images to companies creating generative image models.

I see a lot of artists complaining that their work was used for training, but they also agreed to upload their photos to a company along with a royalty free license.

Another reason why content creators should be mirroring/uploading their videos to other platforms like Nebula/PeerTube/Odysee/etc.

And that’s when scammers/disinformation campaigns can really take advantage of this system.

People are more likely to trust a “blue check mark”, so finding every way to trick the system into either giving one, or making it look like they have one will become a high priority.

What are you talking about? AI is way too broad of a term to be talking in generics like this.

Are you talking about ML models that help with diagnosing patients, find new cures, find new planets, upscaling, motion prediction, self driving cars, image generation, object detection, text generation (ChatGPT), audio generation (music, voices), etc?

If you’re talking about some “AI” that’s meant to replace a system where we already have a simple solution (like a rain sensor) then, yeah, training a model on that is not worth the effort.

If you read the article, it’s more of an “it depends” answer.

Most phones have safety mechanisms built in to them to protect from things like overcharging or overheating during fast charging. They will also default to a low power charging state if it doesn’t detect the correct signal from the charger.

There is a very rare possibility that a charger may not be grounded correctly and that’s why it’s recommended to stick with big brands if you’re going with a 3rd party charger.

Probably “Trap Adventure 2”.
Imagine an old Mario game where Bowser has the most rediculous traps set up. You need to memorize all of the trap locations as well as have the coordination to tip-toe around them to survive.

Though Nintendo’s not going after Pocketpair because lamballs look uncomfortably similar to wooloos, we do know the company is famously litigious in protecting its brand.

So no one really knows what exactly Nintendo is accusing them of yet.

Here’s an older video by an attorney that did a deep dive on Palworld and its legality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns3ATH556NU (Warning: long video).

Edit - Update:

A patent lawyer Was able to narrow down which patent that they could allege was infringed by looking at the combined patents between Nintendo and The Pokémon Company (since they filed a joint lawsuit). There are 28 possibilites and they are claiming that multiple patents have been infringed. https://gamerant.com/nintendo-pokemon-palworld-pocketpair-lawsuit-which-patent/

One likely candidate is a patent that was filed (and requested that the review process be expedited) in July of 2024 that’s “primarily centered on creature-catching mechanics”.

hmm doesn’t seem to work for me.

Only thing that works is to manually re-select the keyboard among my keyboard selection/input method.

This has been driving me crazy.

I’m using a Pixel with GrapheneOS and the FUTO Keyboard.

Slight workaround for everyone on Android: Click the keyboard selector at the bottom right of your screen and just select the already active keyboard. This will temporarily fix it until you start to type up a different comment.
