redditor: i’ve lived a life of complete privilege, buying my own house in my early 20s and traveling abroad the past 15 years. i rented out that house to a single family, who have been the sole tenants the entire time, and who have never been late in payments nor caused me any trouble. anyway, because they’ve always been easy, we never established a more formal arrangement, and they are tenancy at will. even though i’ve been gone for 15 years and they have no reason to think i’ll be coming back any time soon, and they have an entire life undisturbed in that house, and have hopes and plans no doubt with the tacit assumption that they will continue to live in that house, am i an asshole for evicting them with one month’s notice?
chorus of redditors, smirking: you are not the asshole.
could i get a re-link to the site that was hosting real estate listings in Ukraine for western investors/vultures?
i’d like to see ol’ joe slip out of this one!
i understand how impeachment works and i understand the congressional math. i disagree w/ the throwaway christman thesis that the US is on some terminal course of constant impeachments: it will be seen, yet again, that the benefits of impeachments redound to the impeachees party; many republicans understand this, but they are unable to discipline the flailing MAGA wing of the party.
being forced to eat my veggies (fed to me lovingly by mother, making airplane noises and gesticulations with her arm and spoon) is settler-colonialism.
