Bug Report
When I save changes to my profile, my display name and description, it does not save. No error message when I press the Save button, no “saved” toast message either.
EDIT: Ok, I narrowed it down. If you put in too long of a Display Name, everything you changed gets lost and there is no failure toast message. I tried to set my Display Name to “RoundSparrow @ lemm.ee” and I had to shorten it for the save to work.
For 2 minutes before this comment you are reading, I started to get really slow response on loading postings and communities. Then an actual error came up:
Refreshing a few times and it then loaded the post I was viewing. PostgreSQL most likely too busy.
I have noticed a couple of things with error responses, like when you upload a profile picture above the size limit, it will just throw a JSON error
Seen the same thing. There is an open issue on GitHub: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3366
Speaking of Lemmy.world … they are restarting their lemmy_servery application every hour, this drops the federation outbound queue. I would expect message delivery will degrade.
I have configured a rate limiter which will prevent future DoS from the specific method that was used against us today.
For those of us running other Lemmy instances, what should we be looking for?
FYI: I’ve been unable to reply to direct messages
“Save” just spins forever, doesn’t show in sent messages.
