I made a grouphug coin flips, wheel, stax deck that had too few win conditions once. Suffice to say, I was probably the only one at the table having fun and I rarely won with it. I ended up winning with insurrection or politics a lot.
Make sure you have some backup plan for coin flip commander damage. Once people catch on it’ll be harder and harder to protect Okaun from the whole table. I see a goblin sub theme you could lean into or with blue you have reigns of power or spell recursion effects that could help win more games.
I think Jeff Goldblum would be a good fit for me. Mostly because I don’t think I’d want a completely reliable or useful AI companion, just one that adds pleasantness and weirdness to my day to day.
Listen buddy, I don’t think you understand how important it is that I florp my second cousin’s ex boyfriend’s post on the hot new bug patties at McDonalds on sale for $12.99. If I do I get a free bottle of fresh air and a complimentary upper body rinse in the labor hydration station next to the bathrooms.
@SpuncerTV wowowow this guy looks so fun. He’s got a pretty spendy cmc but he might be a good include somewhere else
I’m thinking of upgrading the UB baldurs gate precon captain nghathrod, he’s a lot of fun. I was going to make an Omnath Locus of All but the deck ends up being more about black mana generation than I’d like. On the lookout for cool abzan commanders too!
I like Glaring Spotlight for more interaction control, lightning greaves because lightning greaves, and then for lands I find a spot for thespians stage, cavern of souls, and if you’re playing black or just have a nasty pod bojuka bog for uncounterable graveyard hate.
Buried Alive is a fun card for reanimating or Living Death wipes. I love grabbing Terastodon, Rune-Scarred Demon, and an Avacyn Angel of Hope and just dumping them onto the field when I need them.
Damn I really feel this. I own a game dev studio and the pressure to make the biggest, best selling game is real from all sides (publishers, staff, gamers). However the people who fund games (publishers, platforms, etc.) are starting to understand AAA is too expensive and takes too long to make. There’s some silver lining in that more ‘medium’ experiences are getting a chance and I want to stay at this scale because I know infinite growth is just a recipe for eventual collapse. I may never own a mega yacht but I will happily work with my friends and take care of my family by being content with what risk and reward is available at this scale.
