Hi, I’m Shauna! I’m a 37 year old transgender woman from Ontario, Canada. I’m also a Linux enthusiast, and a Web Developer by trade. Huge Star Trek fan, huge Soulsborne fan, and all-around huge nerd.

Does that include Steam Deck users? Steam OS is based on Linux, but I don’t see it listed on the hardware survey under the Linux category.

Not a perfect solution, but if you’re just looking to rebind certain system level commands, you can do that in Settings > Keyboards and at the bottom there’s a heading “Keyboard Shortcuts” with a button “View and Customize Shortcuts” where you can change the keybindings of system commands to use CTRL instead of FN.

Also a little known fact about the David statue is that it’s over 5 meters tall! (That’s over 16 feet for the metrically challenged, or about 3 times taller than the average person)

The best advice I thankfully saw early on in a video about Death Stranding is just hold down L2 and R2 all the time while you’re running around and you’ll automatically balance yourself in 99% of situations. If you find yourself still tipping over, then just slow down or stand still for a second.

This is going to be a very unpopular opinion, but Elder Scrolls peaked at Morrowind. Oblivion was a pretty big step down in quality, and Skyrim was a completely washed out shell of former Elder Scrolls games. I absolutely hated Skyrim and I don’t understand why it gets such universal praise from gamers.

Both. It held the players hand way too much, literally quest markers leading you straight where you needed to go which I know is a modern gaming thing but I actually loved that in the older games the quest giver just kind of hinted at where you might find the quest resolution and you had to use your knowledge of the game to piece it together. The story and side-stories of Skyrim were subpar, Morrowind had a ton of side stories that were interesting. One that sticks out in my mind is that every once in awhile you’d see this Orc just racing around at super high speeds non-stop. If you managed to catch up to him, or kill him, you’d find that he has magical shoes on. If you put them on, you find out that they give you super speed, but they’re cursed so that you can never stop. Just great, interesting and/or funny stuff like that that rewards your curiosity was simply non-existent in Skyrim afaik.

There’s about to be a huge break through in battery tech called solid state batteries. They’re already commercially available in small sizes. It’s only a matter of time before they’ve available in larger sizes suitable for EVs or for energy grid storage. They can charge super fast and don’t require elements that are awful for the environment like lithium ion batteries. It’s gonna be a game change for EVs. They can charge to 100% in the time it takes to fill a tank of gas.

There’s a good reason that even professional pilots working for airline companies need to submit a complete flight plan even thinking of entering the cockpit and taking off. Can you even imagine the billionaires playing with this toy are actually going to submit flight plans? It’s going to be a disaster. The first time a commercial flight is taken down by one of these things, they’ll be banned world wide, hopefully BEFORE that happens.
