On Reddit if you post anything opposite the hive mind it goes off the rails. If they are talking turkey for thanksgiving and you post ham, the reaction was that as if you murdered their only child.

Here people just ask questions and converse like they normally would in the real world.

Those boards were rife with toxicity. You’d have secret rooms with people attacking a commenter behind their back. Created a very ‘with us or against us’ vibe. Then it would hit a boiling point and spill out as a public attack on a commenter. It made the bullying premeditated and targeted.

Yeah but then you risk looking like you’ve had too many conversations with difficult 12 yr olds among your peers and start missing the overall points of the conversation. Reddit fighting lacks this emotional intelligence. It’s not a good look on adults in adult conversations where not every conversation is a defence but listening. And sometimes it’s just venting where a person might not even be in the right but that’s not what that conversation is about. RL is not about ‘winning’ a conversation as it is on Reddit.

He can’t do a lot of stuff though. You’re giving him too much credit to know how to do stuff. he’s a ceo which is just a puppet for the investors. A job that is only to appear as if he’s looking after finances for investors placed at the head of the business. That’s his only job. He doesn’t have to worry about how to actually make the money. He’s never ‘earned’ a red cent in that he knows how labor works. He just has to say things that sound like he knows how to make money. He’s the middle-est of managers. He’s the most replaceable human on earth. A snail could replace him and no one would feel the difference in the day to day workings.
