I had 7 years of saved posts in my old Reddit account, deleted it today. We’ll see if Lemmy grows, but always open to trying new things!

Related question: anyone have luck with GPU hotplug? I’ve got an eGPU that works perfectly with Windows, but I cannot for the life of me get it to run with Fedora or Ubuntu (xorg and/or wayland). That is the final think keeping me on Windows, which handles eGPU hotplug flawlessly

Thank goodness for edits: I’m running it on a Surface Laptop Studio! Pop! OS was amazing (once I got the proper kernel loaded), but held back by the need to restart every time I wanted to hook up my external monitors.

Seems like Reddit goes in a cycle of being hated and bouncing back, I am baffled how they don’t see everything that’s going on right now! Perhaps it will work out for them, but I’ve left the platform for good

I think that federation will help Lemmy a ton–there will be a lot of small, cheap servers rather than a single extremely expensive one!

RSS readers are fantastic–I use the Nextcloud RSS reader for everything (news, youtube, reddit, etc.)

As long as they FINALLY fix the traffic routing I’ll buy this game in a heartbeat–why must every car be in a single lane on the freeway!!!

That depends on how you intend on importing your Jellyfin media–if you are able to transcode it to a format that Jellyfin can display natively, then you can even run multiple streams on a Raspberry Pi 4 with no issues (as long as your bandwidth can handle it) I am running Jellyfin in Docker on an old HP laptop with an AMD A10-9600P from 2016. Even with no GPU set up, the processor is able to transcode two simultaneous 1080P streams, although I’m intending on transcoding everything into a codec with native support soon

Me too!! I’ve found that reading before bed is helpful–starting with only 10 minutes or so, but now I’m up to a couple of hours (if I go to bed early enough)!
