I haven’t visited the site or used any app since last week. I think the final nail in the coffin were the latest comments from their CEO. I’m glad there are alternatives, but in reality the break from Reddit has illustrated that while there’s a place for online communities, it’s exceedingly easy for a distraction to become a diversion and then a habit and then basically an addition. I’ll probably be somewhat active here as I figure out how to navigate kbin or other alternatives, but I don’t intend on returning to Reddit, or any other platform, site, or app to the same extent. This whole mess has probably been a net positive for my mental health, lol.

It’s actually more comfortable to hold than a Switch, in my opinion, and I wouldn’t say it’s too heavy, but I suppose that could depend on how your sitting/laying to play it? As far as the temp/heat goes, some games warm it up more than others, but even when it’s really getting pushed I’ve never been uncomfortable with the heat of the device. As others have mentioned, it’s honestly a fantastic handheld. ALL of my time has been dominated by Tears of the Kingdom lately, but I’m looking forward to getting back to the Deck soon(lol, it probably won’t be that soon, TotK is a massive game)

This looks like some fever dream “Super Mario: 'Shroom Tales” and I’m all for it.

I wonder if this was what was suspected to be TTYD remake? Either way, this looks cool and I never played the original, so I might check it out…once I’m done with Tears of the Kingdom…so possibly never?

As someone who enjoyed the “New Super Mario Bros.” games, this looks absolutely fantastic. 2D Mario has always been my favorite, so I’m super pumped to see something new that’s not “New”. Even though I enjoyed the “New” I think it’s time to move away from “New” to new. Ya know?

I think it’s important to go through this process so that more visibility is placed on Reddit. I’ve deleted my account and am done with it, and I do think this may be the beginning of the end for that platform, but it’s clear it won’t go down without a fight and to suggest otherwise wildly underestimates how desperate Reddit’s execs may become when faced with the possibility of the platform’s demise. Even if it survives all of this, I think it and the perception of the platform will forever be changed.

I probably wouldn’t buy one now because of my extreme disdain for Musk, but also there are at least comparable alternatives available. Musk is a disaster, and maybe you can argue that if not Tesla, then some other vehicle would have jump started (heh) the EV movement, but I’ll at least give Testa credit for helping make the EV as popular as it is now. All that said, I still don’t own an EV because the last time I needed to buy a car it was still prohibitively expensive and I had no way to charge it overnight; I suppose there’s a whole separate discussion on considering an expensive car you can’t charge overnight because you rent an apartment that only has street parking and maybe the real need is to focus on a better housing solution before a new car…but anyways.
