This particular bed used to be flowers and other ornamentals from the previous owners, so there’s a nice mix of stuff in it. On the other side of my driveway where I dug my squash arch, it was like pulling minecraft blocks out of the ground: solid clay with a few inches of topsoil. All my other beds are raised, I just decided to try some new stuff this year

I think the real issue here is the system is reliant on people spending outside their means and taking on debt, so when large swathes of entire generations stop playing the game, those that benefit from it don’t know what to do. Other than try to insult and appeal towards the demographic in the same breath.

We’re in 7b. I try to push it out as far as I can get it since we get inconsistent freezes. Been a fairly mild winter all things considered, so I’m willing to send some brassica to its doom to maybe squeeze a bit more out
