From what I read it depends on country. Android may have 70% in aggregate but iOS can still dominate in individual countries - e.g. Japan, Denmark, Norway, …

Min account age / min karma are horrible for the new user experience though.

You sign up to say something only to find out you can’t.

Positions change between console generations quite easily. Nintendo and Sega were battling for the crown in one generation, in the next they were far behind a newcomer. Sony absolutely dominated with the PS2 but the PS3 was dead even with the 360 the following generation.

MS is in 3rd place because they did next to nothing this generation to get Xbox higher in the rankings except their current move of trying to buy their way into dominance.

This is a purchase that will give MS a long term advantage. None of their competitors can really match this move because they aren’t worth 2.47 trillion USD. By allowing MS to do this the courts are signing to the world that smaller companies shouldn’t even bother competing because they can never outspend MS’s war chest.

Consoles rely on 3rd party support to be successful. MS just bought out one of the largest 3rd party publishers and will no doubt use its control over it to deny/compromise support to its competitors. This is much larger than you think. To make it worse there is no real counter play for its competitors who aren’t as flushed with cash as they are.

government spending is a potential work around for this limitation

Not a finance guru but I believe there are also “market operations” where the central bank prints money to buy up assets thereby injecting money into the economy - and I guess when they want to shrink the money supply they just sell off those assets.

I feel people like Musk and Trump are more dangerous in general.

Zuckerberg, Bezos, Gates … etc. are the “traditional” billionaires. They are greedy but most of the time rational thus fairly predictable - you don’t expect them to do anything crazy.

Musk and Trump on the other hand are narcissists. They petty, vindictive, insecure, and have fragile egos. There is no telling what would set them off and how far they will go to get even over a perceived slight.

It’s carrier based

Does this happen to iPhones?

I don’t live in the US so I don’t know. Phones in my country can’t be carrier locked anyway due to laws. But they can preinstall crap if you buy one from them - except for the iPhone; those always come in factory condition.

Read it as “Does Star Wars still retain any value?” which is just as valid a question for many.

Seem pretty easy to work around, just call it extension of the earlier service. You just added a new feature.
