I have to admit that the job was at a time when it was state of the art.

One would have to be a special kind of stupid to do that.

In a way, it was. If Windows was not as crappy as it is, external solutions would not be needed.

That’s why wireless security devices are a joke. And it is not only WiFi, this is BlueTooth and other protocols like that, too.

Good security (and common sense, too) would be to have such devices wired up. And check the spectrum for jammers and raise an alarm about that, too.

An IBM PC portable. Yes, PC. 4.77MHz, 256k RAM, two floppy drives. Built-in a maybe 8" green CRT screen, and the keyboard could be used as cover for the screen and disk drives.

In theory, this thing was portable. If you were a body builder. The case was steel, and the whole beast was about 15 to 20 kilograms.

The polio virus does not like higher temperatures. At 4°C it survives best outside a host, but only at certain soil conditions, and even then only for a half to one year.

Yes and no. There is actually a high rate of symptom-free polio carriers, but also implies a non-neglectable amount of carriers with symptoms. Which does not fit into the “25 yeare polio free” scenario.
