I do not life in the US. However because of US hegemony and my country being a suck up to the US i have to follow what is going on there.
But in case there is any doubt. The country i live in, which is Germany is corrupt and authoritarian with a complicit public and private media as well as the “center” parties moving further to the right and helping fascism rise faster than ever before. The “liberal” middle class are to a large extent just self delusional racists and the country will become a fascist hellhole in the next ten years.
So if you have the opportunity, please help spread awareness about all the shit happening here too.

Ich fürchte auch, dass die Wahl damit besiegelt ist. Die Demokraten haben sich erst monatelang geweigert anzuerkennen, dass Biden öffentlich Demenz performt und sich in Verschwörungstheorien zurückgezogen und z.B. hier auf Lemmy jeden als heimlichen Trump-Supporter beleidigt, der gesagt hat, Biden ist zu alt.
Im Megathread in news@lemmy.world gibt es haufenweise Leute, die als Copium meinen es müsse inszeniert sein. (Und von den Mods rausgehalten werden)
Die MAGAs haben schon allein dadurch gewonnen, dass sie ihre politische Kultur auch in der Basis der Demokraten verankert haben.
Und jetzt ist der Wahlkampf “Heldenhafter Trump” gegen “Seniler Opa Biden”. Da sind die Inhalte jetzt ziemlich egal.
Und falls Leute meinen in DE sähe es besser aus, möchte ich an die BTW 2021 erinnern. Der Höhenflug der Grünen wurde gestoppt, weil Unstimmigkeiten in Baerbocks Lebenslauf und halbseidene Plagiatsvorwürfe durch die Presse und Industrielobby massiv gepusht wurden. Die CDU galt als sicherer Wahlsieger bis Laschet beim Hochwasser gelacht und in öffentlichen Auftritten völlig versagt hat. Am Ende gab es Scholz, weil die Menschen gerne weitermerkeln wollten. Inhalte haben auch hier bei dem Großteil der Wähler nicht an erster Stelle gestanden.
Obligatory note for all the “Christians should support Israel” crowd. The Israeli minister of Security said, that Christians should be spit on. When Christians want to pray for Easter in the Church of the holy sepulcher, Israeli security forces are also harassing and attacking them. Good. We have seen with apartheid South Africa that isolation of a rogue terrorist nation is the only non military way of returning it to the community of somewhat lawful nations. No surprise that Israel was a close ally of apartheid South Africa
It gets even more absurd. The southern states blocked building large power lines to transport cheap wind energy south. Now they struggle because the chea renewable energy cannot go there. So while there is plenty of renewables in the north the south still runs coal plants to provide local energy. But then the people in the north have to pay for “network fees” because the South couldnt take their energy.
Because of this it was suggested to split the German energy market in two, where the south which fought against renewables would have to pay the actual electricity costs instead of leeching of the North that properly build up renewables. This was fought teeth and nails because the South of Germany is like Texas but with an even worse superiority complex.
