Itโ€™s FAR better to be in the eye of the storm than in the part that has all the winds and rain and stuff.

An old saying that Dads are likely to have heard is โ€œan elephant never forgetsโ€. So โ€œI have the memory of an elephantโ€ is saying โ€œI never forget.โ€

Unless youโ€™re making a Dad joke.

In which case it means โ€œI remember seeing an elephant onceโ€.

Itโ€™s the usual business mindset.

Businesses never have the budget to, say, maintain their fleet of cars properly. But they have ten times the money to replace cars that broke down.

The answer is obvious: the American people should go to the polls and vote โ€œHELL NO!โ€ with the weapon of their choice.

the political ramifications matter significantly

Can your obsessive worry change the outcome in any meaningful way? No? Then your obsessive worry is damaging both to you and to those you inflict it upon. This is doubly so when you inflict it on an international audience who doesnโ€™t even access to the horse and pony show Americans call an election.

Even if AI turns out to be a hype cycle, getting a lot of clean energy could make it worth the hassle.

It wonโ€™t.

Want to get to clean energy? Get a government with the guts to tell oil companies and car companies to get fucked.

And while theyโ€™re at it they can tell the purveyors of Grand Theft Autocorrect to get fucked as well.
