I’m here because Joey went down too. I stayed as long as Joey worked but I won’t use the reddit app. I hope they can pivot to creating something for Lemmy.
Peas are good for ducks because they are high in niacin. Ducks need higher levels of niacin than chickens so many duck owners give peas as a treat/supplement. My flock gets peas at least once a week. They come running when they see the container I use for their peas because they love them so much.
As for bread, It’s like going to dinner at a restaurant and filling up on bread before the main course comes. You’re missing out on the healthier stuff. Eating large amounts of bread when ducks are young can result in angel wing too because it keeps them from getting the nutrients they need. So even though small amounts of bread may not be too bad it’s better to just avoid it. My ducks favorite treats are lettuce, peas, and halved grapes. Everyone likes those things. They also eat kale , cabbage and spinach. Worms and feeder fish are a special treat for my flock.
When the app I used to access Reddit, Joey for Reddit, went down yesterday I moved to Lemmy. They were working with Reddit to setup paid API access and Reddit shutdown their access mid negotiation. I already had a Lemmy account but didn’t use it til now. I know a lot of other Joey users that did the same.
I so relate to this. I listen to audiobooks or podcasts all the time because it keeps my brain partially occupied. Forgetting to take meds is a huge issue for me. I’m asthmatic and need to take an inhaler twice a day. I’ve been using an inhaler for 35 years and I still can’t remember regulary. I’m broken.
That helps. Thank you. Those things all take thought and planning for me. I have a travel toothbrush and toothpaste in my purse because I forget to brush my teeth more often that I like to admit. I’ve been taking an inhaler twice a day for 35 years and I forget frequently.
