Basically ChatGPT is very good at conveying information in an easy to read and helpful way. Unlike most people on the internet.

Just because it will continue to exist doesn’t mean it’s not going anywhere… it just means it’s not disappearing entirely.

Digg and Myspace still exist, but they have long since been overshadowed by their successors.

Which, of course, doesn’t necessarily mean that reddit will simply fade into obscurity. The internet landscape is a much less differentiated now than it was back when those sites faded into the background. It’s much harder to find alternative sites and communities that will thrive and grow like reddit did. Especially since reddit has existed for almost twenty years, and dominated for at least half that.

We don’t know what will happen going forward, all we can do is guess… and hope.

There’s an authority that “official” priests answer to. They can face punitive action for breaking rules set forth by their established body… just like any other job.

Sure, you got a certificate that says you can do a thing… but you don’t have a job because of that. If you did get a job from that, it would be somewhat similar, but it’s not.

What’s the best way to get rid of a body… theoretically?

Would be nice to make use of that giant empty space on either side of the content.

Could do what Outlook/Teams does and abbreviate the name in a generic icon somehow. Or offer some sort of custom input, either put in your own personal icon or piece of text.

They’ve been inching towards banning it for a while. When hardly anyone raised a fuss when it was effectively banned from /r/all they took that as a sign that when they take greater measures no one of note would care.

Just ownership and control over the content if it makes them money.

Basically “We can do what we want and you gotta suck a lemon”.

Legally justifiable… but ethically? That’s the real question.

From another post, it looks like it’ll be $60.

I believe the term originated via the video maker Yatzhee’s “Zero Punctuation” video series (where the header image comes from), which was similarly tongue-in-cheek.
