Yup. Data collection and selling, it’s the name of the game now. Good luck friend.

Antennas don’t need to stick out like they used to. Ever notice how cop cars used to look alien with all the antennas sticking out couple of years ago but now it’s 2 tiny nubs?

I don’t know if 3g is completely dead at this point but it’s on it’s way out. I think those on-star enabled cars are using 3g but I could be wrong. As far as ripping those out, I doubt it since all of that is integrated into a single chip or it’s soldered on. Best that you can probably do is hope that it is relying on defunct network so it can’t communicate to the mothership anymore but you wouldn’t have a way to verify that.

The dashboard has nothing to do with data collection. That happens internally with various chips and ecu. The data being sent to the company servers don’t care about your dashboard, that’s handled by a different chip that has 3g/4g connectivity. In fact, you can buy a fancy tool that plugs into your obd II port on one end and a laptop in the other see real time data about how various systems are performing and what’s happening based on your driving.

If you were one of the top people in an MLM, would you leave? You know it’s wrong and predatory but you’re making butt load of money. Tom (I wonder) is in a similar boat. Maybe he doesn’t believe it’s predatory but the money and power makes it that much easier to look the other way.

I think it’s more than just money. The judge in this case was also worried about optics. Throwing someone like the orange turd in jail for contempt, while warranted, could look like election interference because he is the nominee for president. It could rile up his base even more and we could have another January 6th on our hands.

How do you “simply” remove the corruption of insurance? The sole purpose of insurance is to take in as much money as possible and pay out as little as possible. I would argue that it’s not corruption, it’s greed but that is by design. Government already provides plenty of other services that aren’t profit driven. The roads that the government builds using tax payer money isn’t generating profit. The public school that the government runs using tax payer money isn’t generating profit. Social security, medicare, medicaid, fire department, VA, public libraries, all run using our tax dollars. Even the army that the government runs isn’t profit driven but there are other companies that have propped up to take advantage of it and have bought lawmakers to be able to easily take advantage (toilet seat that costs 10k anyone?) My argument is that the government inherently isn’t bad or inefficient, it’s the lawmakers that we vote for and don’t vote out that are the problem. Because it’s the government for the people by the people we can vote them out but we can’t vote out a CEO of an insurance company or board of directors of military contractor company.
