Nice, OP. My pfsense config is large and complex, but I’m currently working on migrating it to OPNsense this week too. I’m glad to not be putting up with Netgate’s crap for much longer. Since I have a few Dell R240s, I’ve even been thinking of doing HA.

2100 kWh/month, with the UPS reading about a 2900 W draw. Cost is $0.09/kWh. Located in Middle Tennessee.

This is the 4th post recently about these drives. Search the sub for the answer to your question.

28x 18TB HDDs from Server Part Deals for my backup NAS. Going to put them in 3x 9-drive Z2 vdevs with 1 hot spare. When they go on sale again, I’ll probably snag another 20 to fill my array.

Ditto. I’ve been waiting on those to drop and ordered a ton while they were on sale for BF. Serverpartdeals.com is legit and their customer service is fantastic. With the savings, you can buy more drives to have hot or cold spares on hand if/when a drive fails, and you’ll still come out ahead.

How soon are you looking to buy, and how many? I’ll have some 10TB drives for sale soon.

Serverpartdeals.com! They have recertified 18TB drives for $165 today. They’re Dell-branded, but are still Seagate Exos drives.

I was just seeing that too. I’m gonna have to get some.

This doesn’t answer your question, but check out the 18TB drives that can be had refurbished from Serverpartdeals.com. You can save a lot of money and buy extra drives for more capacity or on-hand replacements considering the savings.

Ouchies.

Power costs me $0.09 kWh where I live, so it’s far more affordable for me to run.
